CANADIAN COMBATO VIDEO TESTIMONIALS

I am a retired U. S. Navy veteran, and Self Protection Specialist/Researcher. I have been researching various methods of self-protection for over 30 years.  In my 22 year Navy career, I was exposed to many methods of "Hand to Hand" and  none is better than Dave's.   In fact, I have incorporated many of Dave's ideas into my own teaching method. What he teaches is based on the battlefield proven methods developed during the second World War for Allied troops being sent on clandestine missions behind the lines. This method is simple and effective. It is a no nonsense approach that works. As a current   Correctional Officer, I find his ideas a welcome addition to my arsenal. In my line of work, violence is always seconds away. When the going get's tough, "Get Tough" with WW2 Hand to Hand. Dave Walmsley will show you the way.

I have bought a lot of knife defense tapes over the last few months from several other instructors. Some were okay and some were not, but I can honestly say that your methods come out on top.

Dave, I have your tapes and think they are great stuff. I have seen many martial arts and self defense tapes but none of them are as simple with basic strikes and kicks and at the same time explain about the mindset one should have and show why other things will not work. You understand the mental part of a real fight and address that very well as well do you understand why only a limited number of very simple strikes and kicks will work.

I have found David Wamsley's Canadian Combato tapes to be most valuable.  After 30 years in the martial arts I have found most tapes to be a rehash of the same old theme. David's tapes show techniques that work. They would be of value to both the beginner and advanced martial artist as they teach easily implimented techniques that belong in every persons arsenal.

Directly stated, Dave Walmsley's Canadian Combato video series are the best tapes available. These videos are about survival. They cover not only what to do but also what not to do. Clear explanations are provided. All areas of combat are covered including mindset, strikes, escapes, attack sequences, ground fighting and weapons. The sequences presented are simple yet very effective. These videos (and subsequent conversations with Dave) have literally changed my entire approach to self defense.

If you are looking for tapes full of countless flashy techniques, don't bother. If you are looking for a detailed exposition on effective methods of close quarter combat, you will not do better than Dave Walmsley's tapes.   Mr Walmsley concentrates on a relatively small numberof effective techniques, and presents them in detail, showing how to perform the them, how to generate power and speed, and common mistakes to avoid. More importantly, he presents the techniques in the larger context of staying alive. He explains not only what to do, but why. Mr Walmsley emphasizes again and again that the key to survival is either to avoid conflict or to attack. This lesson, properly understood, is priceless. I've seen my share of self defense tapes; these are as good as any and way better than most.  If you are interested in substance rather than fantasy and in survival rather than sport, get any of Mr Walmsley's tapes.  Standard disclosure: I have no financial interest in this matter other than that of a satisfied customer.

North Carolina
